Private practice owners face two key challenges: finding new patients and getting the right staff to treat them. I understand these challenges, because I built a private PT business from the ground up into one of the fastest growing companies in the US.

I founded Spine & Sport in 2004 with my best friend Eric Bull. We grew it to 6 clinics in 6 years, attaining Inc 500 (#357 in 2009) fastest growing companies in America. That success was built on recruiting quality PTs, OTs and speech therapists – and it inspired my wife, Cindy, and I to create TherapyNow for private owners struggling to find quality PTs.

We have two guiding principles that set TherapyNow apart: 1) Targeted campaigns for each client, focusing on the clinic’s unique culture and needs; 2) Flat-rate fees instead of a percentage of salary, to give clients the confidence they’re paying market-demand salaries, not inflated ones. The end result is a search that delivers qualified candidates, ready to interview within 3-4 weeks, instead of the fruitless searches for months that many companies often endure.

I’ve been working in this industry since 19xx, when I started my career as a PT and certified athletic trainer for the outpatient clinic, MacLeod Sports Medicine, in Florence, South Carolina. I was later promoted to run that department and successfully handled the growth and expansion into a new facility, including the recruitment of staff.

When Cindy and I decided to make our home in Savannah, Georgia, I took on a position as the Clinical Coordinator of St Joseph/Candler Southside clinic and later managed the Candler hospital outpatient clinic.

When my entrepreneurial spirit kicked in, I started Spine & Sport in 2004, followed by TherapyNow five years later. In 2017, Spine & Sport merged with CORA Physical Therapy, marking the next transition in my career. I now manage TherapyNow, and serve as the Regional Sales manager for GA, TN, KY, VA and IL for CORA.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, BBQing anything that moves, fine wine, supporting the Detroit Lions rain or shine, and spending as much time as possible with my family and our dog, Walle. Recently, I’ve taken to flipping cars with my dad, a classic car aficionado, and speeding along in sports cars.
